About The Project

In December 2018, UPMC McKeesport Hospital opened its new courtyard entrance to the hospital campus. The new space is designed to improve the patient experience by providing a bright and inviting entrance with easy-to-read directional signs and a concierge to help direct visitors. MBM provided general contracting services turning a Subway restaurant, old storage rooms and pharmacy space into the new entrance. The Kenneth D. and Evelyn J. Frew Memorial Courtyard features etched bricks and stones memorializing benefactors, organizations and individuals who have raised money or volunteered for or donated to the hospital. The interior of the new entrance features a reception desk, three large projection screens, and a large lobby area which has tables, chairs and benches where visitors can enjoy coffee from the new Starbucks brewing touchscreen station.
